More than a couple times in the last few weeks, references to the parodies we've done for Moron Life have come up out of the blue.

I *LOVE* the parodies... But I don't get to do them enough. Anyhoo, MySpace Music now allows you more than 4 songs on your Music playlist, so I uploaded the two missing Parodies tonight: Empire of Hurt and On YouTube Today. Need to kill some time?
So I streamed the episode of Dr. Demento from June 22nd (thanks haloedone!!) And just about an hour in, there I was, singing. Now, Dr. Demento doesn't have the syndication prowess he once did, but my voice was heard from Albany, Oregon to Columbus, Ohio to Syracuse, New York to Mobile, Alabama. On the inside, I'm making EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE noises right now. :)

Anyway, when the song was over... well here... listen.
Maybe.

I'm at the restaurant, and it's between shifts... I'm killing a little time pretending to be the manager. :)

Lessee, what happened recently...

CAMPING! It was hot and dusty, and I have lots of bug bites, but it was fun, and it's always good to spend time with Justin, Missy and the sproglings. I don't get to do that enough.

INTERVIEWS! Got another invite from ABC Family to sit in on an interview with Natalie Morales from The Middleman. Lots of fun. Got to ask her a couple questions about her comedy background and whatnot. Unfortunately, I *MISSED* the interview with Matt Keeslar, who plays The Middleman-- turns out he played Johnny Rocket in Waiting for Guffman! Holy crap!

RESTAURANT! Despite the suckitute of food service, the people here are too awesome for words sometimes.

MOVIES! Saw Wanted yesterday. H O L Y C R A P. Lots of gunfights. Great special effects and stunts. Ridiculously pretty cast. And it actually had a mostly decent story line. Overall, I give it two thumbs up for the pure fun factor. Apparently it's based on something that I don't know about, but I'll have to check that out.

FESTIVAL! We start up in less than two weeks. Want to volunteer? Let me know!

PHOTOGRAPHINGY! Blurb.com is having a Photo Book contest. Rather than run around getting releases signed from everyone who was in my first book, I'm putting together a bunch of photos from Nepal, and I'm going to submit that. First prize is $25000, so I have to at least try, right? If you want to peek at the work in progress, check here (warning, large PDF download). It still needs some polish and tweaking (and a couple more pages, I think).

I believe that is all for now...

me
Back to the stone of grinding

Dody Goodman 1915-2008

Seems like it's a day for Obituaries. This one, though, hits a little closer to home. My Uncle Dick was good friends with Dody. I'd dined with her a couple times, and had been to her condo on the Upper East Side. So this one is a little more personal for me.

For those that don't know her by name: IMDB -- CNN

She was the school secretary in Grease and Grease 2, and Tom Hanks' secretary in Splash. She was a regular on Broadway, and was the voice of Miss Rebecca Miller on Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Bah.

<lj-embed id="48" />

me
Too much loss...
