So my fear of no one noticing the Zombie trailer didn't quite come to pass.

We got some traction on MetaFilter Projects, which is awesome. But it didn't really take off anywhere else.

Any thoughts folks have on continuing to spread the word would be heartily welcomed. :)

Does the idea of Jesus rising from the dead after three days strike anyone else as being a little Romero-esque? Ask the makers of 3 Days Later, a musical that gives Jesus Christ Superstar the zombie treatment. So wrong, yet I can't look away...

So, of course I'm following our web stats. And I like to check the referrer page to see where people are coming from. Occasionally I'll follow a link if I don't recognize a site, even.

So this afternoon, there's a site I don't know. I follow the link, and lo and behold! There's a reference to the trailer. And to me...

"I know the guy whos (sic) producing and directing, Hes the fat woman with a mole about half way through this. Shamless (sic) plug, but hes (sic) looking for donations starting I think at $1.32 (sic) to help fund the movie."

Okay, "Fred Flintstone in drag" I can handle. But "Fat Woman with a mole?" Come on!!!

Got the first "that was offensive and not funny" email. I knew to expect them, to do otherwise would be outright stupid. But that it was from someone I know makes it ring out a little bit more, though.

It's hard to explain that it's not INTENDED to offend, but to provoke thought and laughter... however, by its very nature, it manhandles some sensitive subjects. But if someone came back from the dead TODAY, how many people would yell "ZOMBIE!" before they considered divine intervention? Meh.

Which leads me to link back to the discussion on "Fragile Faith" that I couldn't reveal the catalyst for before. Not that I'm implying that this person's faith is fragile at all. It just made me think about it.

Well, folks, the day has finally arrived. Time to reveal the Super Sekrit Project once and for all.

Okay, it's T-5 days and counting to the Revelation of the Super Sekrit Project.

I wasn't going to share any of these video clips until all this was done and ready to go public, but I've started getting the next iteration of the music from our composer, and he's doing such an amazing job with them that I *HAVE* to share...

So excited... that I just can't hide it...

I don't think I could have asked for a more magnificent birthday present than than the one I got the day before my birthday. There is something completely sublime about having the opportunity to work all day on a project (and I mean all day) with people who are there not for self advancement, not for personal gain, and not because they want something, but because they too love to revel in the act of creation. Because they believe that life should be more than making money or finding fame, but instead should be a roller coaster of collaborations with each turn adding just enough terror and relief to make the entire ride one huge epiphany.

Today I got to spend the day working on the Super Sekrit Project.

We shot for 12 hours, and it was glorious. I got to REALLY direct, and it felt fantastic.

Turns out there was no show in the space that night, so we got to take our time, making sure things were the way we wanted them instead of barreling through trying to get it done before a deadline.

9AM to 9PM. Ho. Ly. Crap.

Then we went and nabbed some dinner in El Cerito.

Then I drove back to San Jose and dropped all the equipment off at the studio.

Now I'm writing this. In 10 minutes I expect to be asleep.

Undying thanks go to cyranocyrano and walid_muffin for coming to play today. And I don't know that I would have gotten through it at all if it wasn't for melibabe's untiring efforts and ridiculous amounts of work... she really did the job of three different production crew members today, if not more than that.

For those of you dying to know what the Super Sekrit Project is, you'll know within 30 days, I promise. Probably a little bit sooner than that. But, to tide you over, I give you this:
